about

After months of cryptic status updates and veiled photographs, we are proud to announce the release of our EP, Losing Grip. Recorded periodically throughout 2015, the seven songs capture the infancy of Burn Rebuild, while intimating the musical evolution that lies ahead.

Track Name: Crippled
They say it's better to just know your place
And be happy with those things that you have
It does nothing when you're sad

And some days I feel like I'm OK
I grab my keys start driving then I can't breathe
And slowly I'm slipping away

Hard to feel happy when this life's been so sad
It's hard to let go of those things that you’ve had
And maybe someday you will get those things back
But for now just let them go

And I’ll find a way, I’ll find a way

And I write these songs in my bedroom at night
They're late night phone calls to old friends about my problems
I hope that someone is listening

Cause some days I feel like I'm OK
Then reality hits me I'm losing it
What I want is getting farther away

Hard to feel happy when this life's been so sad
It's hard to let go of those things that you’ve had
And maybe someday you will get those things back
But for now just let them go

And everyone says forget the past
Well thanks for the obvious
Cause I hadn't really thought of that
Except for every single day I'm awake

And I can't escape what makes my shoulders break
There's no heaven to help and no devil to pay
I swear by it all I'll find a way, I'll find a way
I’m going to find a way to make you make you stay

Hard to feel happy when this life's been so sad
It's hard to let go of those things that you’ve had
And maybe someday you will get those things back
But for now just let them go
For now you’re on your own
Track Name: Farce In the Crowd
I’ll never be the voice, I’ll never be your favorite line
Like ones that echo through time, mine will always die
Stay far away and your heart will never break
Stay far away, you won’t make those mistakes

I’m like the hero in those tales
And sometimes heroes prevail
They save the day but they ruin everything around them
Tell me you can’t go wrong this time, I’ll find a way

I’ll never be the voice, I’ll never be your favorite line
Like ones that echo through time, mine will always die
Stay far away and your heart will never break
Stay far away, you won’t make those mistakes

I’m like the hero in those tales
And sometimes heroes prevail
They save the day but they ruin everything around them
Tell me you can’t go wrong this time, I’ll find a way

There’s no sleeping, there’s no dreaming in this bed
There’s no shutting down my head

When I smile it’s misleading, showing teeth but there’s no feeling
And in my guts there’s something burning and the feeling’s disconcerting

Everyone has found their way and I still cling to the same things
From my past they said forget it, if I could then I would do it

I’m like the hero in those tales
And sometimes heroes prevail
They save the day but they ruin everything around them
Tell me you can’t go wrong this time, I’ll find a way
We’ll find a way
Track Name: Dying Light
Three chords had said more to me than any written page
In textbooks that I had read
And I wouldn't be a wash up if I never got in the water
It's just sad that in the process I lost her

I never tried to break the ground that was laid to waste before me
I just tried to get someone to understand

My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore
My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore

And these songs bring back all of my favorite memories
That I wish I could forget
And all of my best friends are now faces on the Internet
Digitized not intimate, disconnected

I never tried to break the ground that was laid to waste before me
I just tried to get someone to understand

My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore
My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore

And it's hard for me to admit that everything is over
So we'll say, "This is no time to be sober."

My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore
My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore

My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore
My heart’s still on fire like it was when I was 18
It's a burn that I don't want to feel anymore
It’s a burn that I don’t want to feel anymore
Track Name: Therapy
It was my way to freedom now I've got nothing left
I've lost memories, I've lost friends but gained regrets
I never wanted the fame just someone to understand
And say, "Hey man, I'm feeling what you say”

Cause sometimes, well, I feel the same.
When I'm alone stuck in my home and I get the shakes

Cause the songs no longer help to pull me through
Cause none of them bring me back to you
Won't bring me back to you
You're gone for good

Failing at every effort to bring you back to me
But writing songs and reading poetry
It only works in movies and foolish teenage dreams
Well it's hard to dream when you can barely sleep

Hashing out all your past mistakes
When your alone stuck in your home and you get the shakes

Cause the songs no longer help to pull me through
Cause none of them bring me back to you
Won't bring me back to you

When I'm alone in my home I get the shakes
Wish they were fake, wish that I could forget this place

Cause the songs no longer help to pull me through
Cause none of them bring me back to you
Won't bring me back to you

Never wanted much of anything
Still got your back, this is our therapy

Cause the songs no longer help to pull me through
Cause none of them bring me back to you
Won't bring me back to you
Track Name: Never Harder
Well is this the way that we are
Cause you said you don’t feel the same anymore
And these days I’m feeling the same

And we'll exchange all those years for new pain
We're not the same not sometimes but every day

Never harder now to see through new eyes
Never thought that I would wake up and call this life
Never harder now to see through new eyes
Never thought I wouldn’t be brave enough to fight
Just hold on tight, baby hold on tight

I’m giving into pain and lips and cheap thrills
But it doesn’t feel the same anymore
Each time it feels like a mistake

And I know it’s for the best that you left
And I’m still a wreck, I’m still wasted just every fucking day now

Never harder now to see through new eyes
Never thought that I would wake up and call this life
Never harder now to see through new eyes
Never thought I wouldn’t be brave enough to fight
Just hold on tight, baby hold on tight

And it’s not like we weren’t trying to better than this
And it’s not like we weren’t trying to better than this
But what’s the point if I can’t be fixed

Never harder now to see through new eyes
Never thought that I would wake up and call this life
Never harder now to see through new eyes
Never thought I wouldn’t be brave enough to fight

And it’s not like we weren’t trying to better than to be better than this
Track Name: Who I Am
You can't wash away the bad that's inside
I'll never change, it's who I am
A monster, a fake, what's it going to take for me to wake up
This grin’s a front

I want to change but there's things that are keeping me
Always tied down to this place
Trying to find the light, I carry on

It's when the lights go out and I'm all alone
I’ll tell the dark the truth about me and you
Nobody else knows what's buried in my soul, mistakes I can't let go
Still I go on

I want to change but there's things that are keeping me
Always tied down to this place
The same sad songs, the same sad lines
They always get stuck in my mind
Trying to find the light, I carry on

I want to change but there's things that are keeping me
Always tied down to this place
The same sad songs, the same sad lines
They always get stuck in my mind
Track Name: Ignite
So we can light our way, so we can light our way
I'll burn this down
So we can light our way, so we can light our way
I'll burn this down
I’ll burn it down

We take these roads that never end
Try to ignite a new world to feel like this was home
We take these roads that never end
Try to ignite a new world to feel like this was home

So we can light our way, so we can ease our pain
I'll burn this down
So we can light our way, so we can feel the same
I'll burn this down
I’ll burn it down

We take these roads that never end
Try to ignite a new world to feel like this was home
We take these roads that never end
Try to ignite a new world to feel like this was home

Just stay with me, just be still, we'll burn and rebuild
Just stay with me, just be still, we'll burn and rebuild

We take these roads that never end
Try to ignite a new world to feel like this was home
We take these roads that never end
Try to ignite a new world to feel like this was home
